Ok, so I’ve been working on updating the spray guides for Cotton and Rice. It’s a good way of familiarizing myself with the new brand names of the chemicals. Why there needs to be 3 brand names for chlorantraniliprole (and other chemicals) I’ll never know. Anyway, so I noticed that quite a few of the chemicals have gone away, and a few of the ones that are still around have had their application rates increased substantially. Now, if you’re updating your spray guides on a yearly basis, you probably wouldn’t notice such a stark difference. However, the spray guides have not been updated since Michael Boyd wrote them in 2005, so it’s giving me a greater perspective. Resistance issues in the region, perchance?
I should have these finished by next week and their .pdf files uploaded to the blog. I am also almost finished with the updates to the quick reference spray guides. I will upload those as well. If you want a laminated copy, send me your snail mail address to send out one set to you.
