More pest alerts

The following is from the MU IPM pest monitoring network:

Japanese Beetle Alert

Potentially significant captures of Japanese beetles (Popillia japonica Newman) have been reported in Scott County.

A list of 2011 alerts can be viewed here.

Japanese beetle captures in a pheromone trap do not indicate that treatment is necessary, but indicate that fields should be scouted. Be aware that this alert applies only to Japanese beetle.

Be aware that not all counties have an active Japanese beetle trap. (View Missouri Japanese beetle Maps)

Corn Earworm Alert

Potentially significant captures of Corn Earworm (Helicoverpa zea) have been reported in Pemiscot,  Stoddard and Scott Counties.

Corn Earworm captures in a pheromone trap do not indicate that treatment is necessary, but indicate that fields should be scouted. Be aware that this alert applies only to Corn Earworm.
