Thrips may be hard to control this year in cotton?

I just received and email from Scott Akin in Arkansas about problems with thrips control that may affect one of our regional projects. I thought it is timely information and worth sharing.

“Got word this morning that thrips have been hard to control in LA.  You may want to either increase the rate of acephate or use 3 fl oz of Radiant + Dyne-Amic, particularly if you think you may have Western flower thrips.  That said, be careful not to burn the plants from high rates of acephate.” – Scott Akin, Entomologist, University of Arkansas.
