Cold weather, cotton and thrips

I was out looking at my cotton this weekend and I didn’t seem much damage but as long as the weather is cool, the cotton won’t be growing which means thrips injury could be a problem this year. Something to think about with all this rain, in SW Missouri there have been complaints of damage to corn with seed treatments. Too much rain may reduce the effectiveness of seed treatments, so be on the lookout so that you know if you need to hit them with a foliar application. But a heavy rain could also knock thrips back.
